Sample Dialogue
You: Excuse me, how do I get to the train station? Local: Go straight for two blocks, then turn left at the traffic lights. You: Is it far? Local: About a 10-minute walk. You’ll see it on your right, opposite the park. You: Thank you very much!
When giving directions in English, use imperatives (Turn left, Go straight) and clear landmarks. Saying “it’s on your left” after the turn description prevents confusion.
